WHAT ARE CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Clip-in hair extensions are a quick, easy, and temporary do it yourself approach to achieving longer and fuller hair, with no long-term bonding, pain, or damage to your hair. They are easily affixed and can be perfectly matched and blended with your own hair to create length, emphasize volume, or even to add highlights to your natural hair.

All clip-in hair extensions come in one or multiple pieces, which are called wefts, that will vary in width. Extensions can be clipped in and out of your hair in a matter of minutes and are practically invisible. They are by far the fastest and most affordable way to transform the look of your hair without breaking the bank or damaging your natural hair.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SYNTHETIC AND HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Hair extensions made from 100% natural, human hair can be dyed, bleached, styled with hair dryer or hot tools (curled or straightened), washed frequently, and treated just like you would your own natural hair. They can be put permanently in to your hair.

On the other hand, hair extensions made from synthetic hair are sensitive to the sun, are difficult to style and blend with your own hair, and typically don't have the same lifespan as human hair extensions. Human hair extensions can last up to a couple of years if they are properly cared for.

CAN I HAVE STAR WHISPER HAIR EXTENSIONS PUT PERMANENTLY IN TO MY HAIR?

Yes, absolutely.

Apart from dealing with this on-line Star Whisper hair extension shop, we are a working beauty place, located in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The main thing about us and our work, apart from working directly with the end customer as hair extension specialists, colorists, stylists and hairdressers, is that we attach the extensions permanently. In other words, the extensions are always on the customer’s head – they become a part of the respective woman’s appearance. She bathes, sleeps, works out…lives with them. The extensions are neither attached every morning, nor removed every evening. How is that possible? We put some very small, mini elastic silicone rings.

They are put at the bottom of each weft, 2-3 cm (0,78-1,18 inch) apart from each other. They are attached to the real hair by pulling two thin locks of it – one of them is pulled through the bottom of the weft and the other is pulled over the weft itself so that they are parallel to each other. These two locks are tied together through the weft itself, very closely to the scalp and a mini silicone ring in an appropriate color is put on each joint. The natural hair locks are pulled with a device that looks like a loop, so that they slid through the mini silicone ring, which is then closed and flattened with pliers.

This is a unique technique which doesn’t cause any discomfort and it damages neither the natural hair nor the extensions. The extensions are fixed firmly and the mini silicone ring can be removed only with pliers by pressing the opposite ends of the wider part. The extensions should be maintained every 6 weeks, because as the natural hair grows, the wefts start hanging slightly and the customer starts feeling them. When this happens all the extensions are removed and attached closely to the scalp again for another 6 weeks.

WHY ARE THERE SHORT HAIRS IN MY EXTENSIONS?

All Star Whisper hair extensions are made of 100 % natural, human hair and as we also have shorter strands of hair throughout our head because all hair sheds and grows at different rates, this is the same with your Star Whispers.

What does the term DOUBLE DRAWN HAIR mean?

Once the hair is trimmed from the donor’s head, it is necessary to process the tail itself - the so-called combing, if there are different hair lengths in the tail, they should be separated to obtain hair of exactly equal lengths. This is one option - in case the cut hair has been stacked as a haircut, although principally, the hair that is suitable for the extensions should be flat and of the same length.

The other option of hair combing is the so-called DOUBLE DRAWN HAIR - that is hair in which all shorter hair is removed and only the longest one is left to start and end with the same lengths. This treatment is a very important and essential stage of the overall process - a guarantee that when the hair is braided in the form of a tress, the base and the end will have the same density. If there is no combing as a procedure, then a tress could be got, rather dense at its base, but with a thin and loose end. This would reduce the value and uniqueness of the hair for extension. So we comb our hair, and everything that is given as a shorter length is not used at all, but is scrapped and discarded.

However, you should always take into account the fact that STAR WHISPER hair is human hair and, like any human hair, its ends inevitably get thin. Very rarely, there is a hair that is 100% of the same density at its base and at the end. Therefore, we recommend the following - if you want a flat, thick, dense end, cut the extensions off about 5 cm (1.95 inches), naturally do not do it yourself. The hair should be on your head and cut by a professional hairdresser. The other option is simply to buy longer hair to shorten - you can cut it to 10 cm (3.9 inches) from it and get a very dense lower end of the tress.

DO HAIR EXTENSIONS SHED AND TANGLE?

As with any clip-in hair extensions, Star Whisper Hair extensions will have some normal and expected hair-fallout, especially when you first receive and start using your hair extensions. Generally the assembling of the hair creates a healthy, durable and stable fit, from which hair does not escape and the hair as a whole retains its original appearance - as it was at the time it was cut off by its donor.

But you can minimize shedding/hair-fallout, by maintaining your hair extensions with utmost care, and gently brushing them before and after each use.

WHAT TEMPERATURE CAN STAR WHISPER HAIR EXTENSIONS BE STYLED AT?

You can style your Star Whispers the same way as you style your own hair. We recommend to use a heat tool not very often in order to prolong the lifespan of your set. Although your hair is constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don’t get that sort of nutrition.

WHERE IS THE BEST WAY TO STORE CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS?

For best appearance, clip-in hair extensions should be stored away when completely dry. The Star Whisper hair box your extensions arrive in are specifically designed so you can reuse the box as a storage container.

CAN I SWIM OR PLAY SPORTS WITH MY HAIR EXTENSIONS CLIPPED IN?

There is no problem to wear your Star Whisper hair extensions as long as you feel comfortable. Our hair don’t get tangled with your own hair, there won’t be an issue if it get wet. You can go to the beach, swim or play sports with your Star Whispers, these won’t get damaged. Of course you will feel more comfortable if our hair extensions are put permanently on your head.

SHOULD I WEAR MY STAR WHISPERS OUTSIDE WHEN IT'S WINDY OR RAINY?

Yes, absolutely.

Our hair don’t get tangled with your own hair, there won’t be an issue if it get wet.

CAN CLIP-IN HAIR EXTENSIONS CAUSE BALDING OR HAIR LOSS?

No, clip-in hair extensions are not capable of causing bald spots or hair loss.
The typical process for hair growth is when the follicle produces normal strands of hair that grow out over a couple of years, then shed to produce new growth. When a hair follicle is affected, however, it shrinks and becomes smaller in size, and produces hair that is finer than normal. While new hair typically stays put for a couple of years before shedding, affected hair follicles shed much quicker and grows out much slower. As a result, the follicle is not able to continue the proper hair growth life cycle, resulting in balding.
If you are experiencing balding or excessive hair loss, we recommend to consult with your doctor.

I HAVE HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS OR OMBRE/BALAYAGE HAIR, WHICH SET IS RIGHT FOR ME?

For those who have a combination of shades in their hair, we always recommend going for a set that matches the lightest highlight or portion of your hair. This is because it’s easy and less harmful if Star Whisper hair extensions are dyed a darker color. Bleaching is a harmful process that can alter the quality of your set, and even damage it.

You will have to take your set to a professional hair colorist, who has had previous experience dyeing hair extensions, to have them add in lowlights or dye the roots a darker color in order to achieve an overall match. If you do decide to get them dyed, we recommend that you test a one clip weft prior to dyeing the full set, to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.

CAN I SLEEP WEARING STAR WHISPER HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Generally you can, but this might cause some discomfort. You might feel the clipping in your hair. Our advice - you may wrap your hair extensions before sleeping on it to make it more comfortable for you.

WHAT PRODUCTS CAN BE USED ON HAIR EXTENSIONS?

After leaving a donor the hair loses human nutrition and you should use a high quality mild shampoo and conditioner (sulfate-free and alcohol-free) and some nourishing products as well – argan oil, olive oil, liquid crystals etc. Heat protectant sprays, serums and any other leave-in conditioners or treatments are also highly beneficial and will prolong the lifespan of your Star Whispers.

HOW DO I WASH MY EXTENSIONS, AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH THEM?

Wash your Star Whisper hair extensions 2-4 times per month – it depends how often do you wear these WHEN CLIP-IN or when there is too much product build-up and they become unmanageable to style. BY PERMANENT HAIR EXTENSION you wash the hair together with your own. Comb your hair extensions before washing or you can detangle it with your fingers. Do not comb wet hair. Put your Star Whispers in warm water with mild shampoo and wash them gently in a downward motion. Rinse them a couple of times just with water. Put some conditioner or treatment and leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
Put the hair extensions on a dry towel and leave them to suck the moisture. You can use a hair-dryer or leave them air-dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Never sleep with wet human hair. With right treatment and good care our Star Whispers can last for more than 2 years, even 3 years. You can frequently use a deep conditioning mask for at least 4-6 hours (or overnight) after washing your Star Whispers, as this will help retain moisture and keep the hair smooth and silky.

CAN I COLOR, TONE, OR BLEACH MY HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Since Star Whisper hair extensions are made of 100% natural human hair, they can be dyed a darker color or toned by a professional hair colorist, who has had previous experience working with hair extensions. If you do decide to get them dyed, we recommend for a one clip weft to be tester first prior to dyeing/toning the full set to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.

Star Whispers can be colored a lighter shade – the so called bleaching. But you should consider that bleaching is a harmful chemical process that can alter the quality of your set, and even damage it – the same is with your own hair. If you need a lighter shade, always use the services of a professional hair colorist. We strongly advice a lower percentage of a developer/oxidizing emulsion to be used.

If you are in-between shades, we recommend going for the lighter color and taking your set to a professional hair colorist to have them dye your set a darker shade in order to achieve an overall match.
Similarly, if you have highlights, we recommend going for a shade that matches the lightest highlight in your hair, and having a professional hair colorist add in lowlights to your set.

HOW DO I CLIP IN STAR WHISPER HAIR EXTENSIONS, AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Star Whisper hair extensions are incredibly easy and quick to clip in your hair, because all wefts include sturdy and secure clips. With practice, it shouldn't take you any longer than 5 minutes to apply.
